I was casually reading through the Location Works site and found this beautiful home. Architecturally, it is nice but what I really love is the amazing collection of unique furniture. It looks to me that ever single piece has meaning behind it. Pretty, pretty:)
I am a big believer in living with pieces that are personally meaningful and not bought to be filler, everything in the home should be like family, don't you think?
This weekend I am going from just photographing the Urban Market (here, here and here) to SELLING at the Urban Market!!! I have to admit that I am feeling very nervous. I mean, unlike when I sold my furniture at an antique store or when I write this blog; I will have to be present along with my furniture. I feel like I will exposing myself! The good thing is that I will be there with the lovely Paloma of La Dolce Vita. Hooray for friends! So, I'm using this post as therapy; I'm talking it out and I'm hoping some of you will come by and offer some support. (If you want to literally support me and buy some stuff that will be very welcome too:) I collect unusual things that catch my eye and that are what else? Very eclectic and off-beat. Okay, I'm taking deep breaths and practicing my faith. Click here if you aren't familiar with the Urban Market and I hope to see you there!
Glossy, bright, fresh, and light. I love all those words and they describe this kitchen well! This all white color scheme is modern and timeless. I can imagine myself making a sparkling pitcher of lemonade along w/ a brightly colored salad in this fun place. Yummy! I wonder if this kitchen would help me lose weight? Hmmm?
Feliz Cinco de Mayo! Click here if you are not familiar with this holiday. I dedicating this post to the people of Mexico and Mexico City who have been struck by such a scary situation involving the swine flu. There has been so much hype (too much if you ask me) around the world, but Mexico has been the hardest hit. I worry that in the future, people will hold the Mexican people responsible for this and whatever problems it may cause. In my little way, I want to remind everyone that no one intentionally caused this and it is just one of those tragic things in life. To celebrate Cinco de Mayo and Mexico City, I'm posting my favorite song performed by my favorite band. I'm also introducing a lot of you to thebest band in the world, that you weren't familiar with:) Cafe Tacuba hails from Mexico City, and I love them because their music sounds just like that amazing city. Its controlled chaos! Energetic, artistic, modern and ancient all mixed together. Also, despite being talented musicians, they never take themselves to seriously. That's an important trait while traveling in Mexico. If you've never been to that city, I highly recommend it (after the flu of course). Its like no other place in the world. Until then, listen to some Cafe Tacuba tunes and start feeling it in your bones.
