Chairs hanging from the walls! Of course!!
I have often mentioned my addiction to buying chairs (and photographing them).
What I don't talk about much, is just how many chairs I have w/ nowhere to put them.
I LOVE this idea found on Apartment Therapy! Check out the photos. There are some more
examples of unique storage ideas for chairs. What I really love it that the chairs become
a work of art. Honestly, that is what attracts me to chairs; their beautiful lines or texture.
Now, if only I can get Mark to go along w/ this idea...even more challenging.

Bold and Glam

To truly be glamorous one must be bold, but the home of designer James McInroe takes it to the next level!
I can't get over every amazing detail.

Orange! My favorite color as of late. This bedroom doesn't look very large,
but the floor to ceiling draperies make it look very grand. Love it:)

Designer: Jiun Ho

My most recent interesting find is the portfolio of designer Jiun Ho. His spaces range from residential spaces to dramatic hotels. I am loving his entire portfolio! Its so earthy and serene.

An interesting detail he repeats is the two-tone draperies. Its a great subtle touch.

P.S. Bloggers may notice that I posted larger photos. For some reason editing the Html the way I used to didn't work anymore. It took a little time but I finally figured out how to get my big scale pictures, back! (I'm from Texas. I don't really like little;)

So Very Clever!

Isn't funny how people who are creative at one thing, seem to be creative at many things? The people of Ferm Living also have a cool blog that I just discovered. (Excuse me if this is not news to you). I am completely infatuated w/ this idea of wallpapering the inside of a lampshade w/ this amazing wallpaper. Just think of the possibilities!! Sconces, giant pendants....I'm so excited thinking about it! Now I just have to decide which pattern I like best. What's your pick?

Christmas Decor: Keeping It Simple.

Just so all of you don't think I'm a total Scrooge, I thought I would post some lovely Christmas photos.
So, any of you who read this blog regularly know I have to keep it simple.
I've always felt that simple and natural elements at Christmas are so inspiring and special.

Give Me More Vintage!

I can barely believe it, but its already time for antique shopping at Round Top again! I'm trying to convince my husband to go w/ me, but because of all the recent traveling; he's not too excited. I have to say, that if he doesn't go I am not afraid to go it alone. Don't hinder my vintage lust. I found this home on The Selby, and it is one of the best reasons to buy more vintage, I've seen in a while.

That sectional is killer!! Where can I find one?

I wouldn't mind having such a cute dress too.

Stairway to Heaven.

Erika of Urban Grace, posted this stairway the other day; and I must say that my jaw dropped! Wow, these are so gorgeous. I would love to look at this great pattern while walking up and down. After looking at this I was inspired to post more unique and beautiful staircases.

I would like to point out that the picture above is a great example of how to display photos along the stairway wall. A design pet peeve of mine is the mismatched frames hung diagonally on the wall. You know what I'm talking about. When frames are placed to match the slope of the stairs. I always find that disturbing when I walk in a house and see that. I know its a trivial matter, but it bugs me.

My New Hero: Suzy Hoodless

I'm sure I'm behind the times, but I just discovered Suzy Hoodless' work; and I'm hooked! As former editor for Wallpaper magazine, she obviously has a great eye for detail. Found via Frolic

The Slow Home Movement.

I found a fascinating site called The Slow Home. It is an international movement dedicated to fighting suburban sprawl. Basically, its goal is to encourage people not to discard existing older neighborhoods, for the flashier; built over-night subdivisions. This idea is something I am very passionate about, and that is why I love this site. When I first moved to Houston, I lived in the suburbs; in a cookie-cutter house. Honestly, I had never lived in such an upscale neighborhood. What I soon discovered was that I felt like any amount of creativity had been choked out of the entire area. Everyone had the same house, same cars, same furniture, etc. I quickly grew to be very unhappy. Since then, Mark and I gave up our big home for a much older tinier one. Obviously, older homes have their share of problems; but the proximity to town and the sense of community; makes it worth it. At some point, we hope to move to a larger home, but we can't go back to the suburbs.

The Slow Home site has a huge amount of info. for anyone looking to improve their older home. It also has lots and lots of wonderful pictures. These are a few of my favorites.

I am CRAZY about the classic and retro feel of this townhouse. The wood floors and original moldings really make this home. I also love the marble surround for the tub.
